How to find us..
From the A30 at the Lelant / St.Erth roundabout, take the second exit for St.Ives, drive straight ahead at the first mini-roundabout, at the second mini- roundabout turn right to St Ives taking the A3074 through Lelant and Carbis Bay. Carry on past Tesco’s, then take the next right by the St Ives Harbour Hotel into St Ives. follow the road into Tregenna Hill, at the bottom take the first left turning between the National Westminster Bank and the Library (opposite the Hain Line pub) into Gabriel Street. Proceed up the hill passing the Co-op and the local cinema. At the roundabout, turn right into Bullans Lane. At the top of the hill, turn left into Alexandra Road, Carthew Terrace is the next 2nd turning on the right, you will find no 7 about 3/4 of the way up.
Or the scenic route..
It can get very busy in the town centre during peak times so you may wish to avoid the traffic and come in via the top of St Ives.
From the A30 at the Lelant / St.Erth roundabout, take the second exit for St.Ives, drive straight ahead at the first mini-roundabout, at the second mini- roundabout turn left on to the (B3311) “Holiday Route for day visitors” to St.Ives and follow this road for about 5 km, drive past Trink and Balnoon. At the wide B3311 T-junction turn right towards St.Ives and drive through Halsetown, at the next T-junction, turn right again, (you are now joining the B3306 coastal road from Lands End & Zennor as it enters St.Ives) At the double roundabout carry straight on towards the town centre, turn left at the next roundabout into Bullans lane, at the top of the hill turn left into Alexandra Road, Carthew Terrace is the next 2nd turning on the right, you will find no 7 about 3/4 of the way up.
Please note that Carthew Terrace is a private road therefore a satellite navigation systems may not direct you correctly.
Arriving by train.
We are roughly a 15/20min walk from the train station, however it does involve some hills! Taxi’s are available from the train station if you have bulky luggage (local firm: Ace cars 01736 797799). Here are 2 options for walking:
Quickest (but involves a steep hill!)
Follow the road into town via the Terrace, keep straight on into Tregenna place Then turn (by Barclays) left into Bedford road, at the end turn right onto Windsor hill. At the top of Windsor hill turn left onto Alexandra road, follow this road (past Ayr newsagents) Carthew Terrace is the 3rd right (Don’t take the 1st right which will take you into Carthew Close and Carthew Way) Follow the road to the end and follow around to the left, Gekko Lodge is about 3/4 the way up (No 7)
Slightly longer but more gradual…
If you wish to avoid Windsor hill, then instead of turning left into Bedford Rd, go right through the high street, then left by the Golden Lion pub, left again by the Chinese and past St Ives Photo Gallery, then right into Back street, follow the road until you get to the Barbara Hepworth Museum, then go left into Ayr lane, this will also come out at the top of Alexandra road/the Cemetery.
